A Rich Green Emerald

Lebanon: 04 days, 03 nights
 

This itinerary is designed for an excellent visit to Lebanon. The stop at the rich green Cedars adds an extra special excitement.

 

Day 01: Damascus / Anjar / Ba’albeck / Cedars / Tripoli  
Depart Syria to the Lebanese border. To be met and assisted by the Lebanese guide. Right after crossing the border, we stop at the ruins of Anjar, a fine Islamic 8th century ruins. We continue our drive to Ba’albeck to visit the legendary site, the temple of Jupiter, the temple of God Bacchus, the temple of Venus whose well presentation tells a story of a glorious past.

Lunch is included on the way to the Cedars of Lebanon, the climax of today’s visit. We end the day in Tripoli by the coast. Dinner and overnight

Day 02: Tripoli / Byblos / Dog River / Beirut
After breakfast, we do the sightseeing of Tripoli; afterwards we drive by the Mediterranean water to visit the Phoenician site of Byblos. We see the 3rd millennium wall and city gate, Mesolithic and Neolithic houses, the temple of Baalat-Gebal…etc. Lunch is at cozy restaurant in Byblos.

We continue our adventure south to Beirut. On the way south we stop by the Dog River, famous for its commemorative inscriptions.    

Day 03: Beirut / Saidon / Tyre / Beit-Eddine / Deir Al Qamar / Beirut
After breakfast, we drive south to visit Saidon, famous because of its souqs, caravanserai and its medieval waterside castle.

We visit the ruins of Tyre. The imposing panoramic palace of Beit – Eddine in Lebanon, is visited in the afternoon after having lunch in a local restaurant.

Deit Al Qamar village, the residence of the 16th century governors of Lebanon is also included in today’s visit before heading to Beirut.

Dinner and overnight

Day 04: Transfer to Beirut Airport for departure.
