Brownish FIBROLITE

Syria, Lebanon & Jordan 11 days, 10 nights

 

Day 01: Damascus
Arrival at Damascus airport to be met & assisted by the assigned guide, transfer to the hotel

Day 02: Damascus / Ba'alback / Safita

Early breakfast the depart Syria to the Lebanese border to be met & assisted by the Lebanese guide then we drive to Ba'alback to visit the legendary site, the temple of Jupiter, the temple of god Bacchus, the temple of Venus whose well presentation tells a story of a glorious past. Lunch at a local restaurant in Ba'alback, and then we leave Lebanon crossing the Syrian border where we will be met & assisted by the Syrian guide. After that we transfer to Safita's hotel for dinner & O/N.

Day 03: Safita / Crack Des Chevaliers/ Hama / Aleppo
After breakfast we leave Safita to visit Crack des Chevaliers the castle which Lawrence of Arabia commented on it as being the wholly admirable castle in the world. Upon arrival we start the tour by climbing up till we get to the leader's own watching tower. Then we transfer to Hama to visit the huge water wheels of the city, and then we have lunch in Hama. Afte that we continue driving to the hotel in Aleppo for dinner & O/N

Day 04: Aleppo / Deir Ezzor

After breakfast we proceed to the sightseeing of Aleppo, the flavored oriental city to include the archeological museum, the citadel of Aleppo, the caravanserais, the Grand mosque, the souq, and then we have our lunch at a local restaurant. After that we drive eastwards to the hotel in Deir Ezzor for dinner & O/N

Day 05: Deir Ezzor / Dura Eurupos / Mari / Palmyra
After breakfast we follow the down stream of the Euphrates to get into Dura Eurupos which was a fort, a caravan port and a flourishing city whose temples were from the inside with the fine pieces of gorgeous frescoes. Later on we continue driving by the waterside downstream till we get to the excavated site of the 3rd millennium, Mari, the king's legendary Palace was consisted of 300 rooms in which many temples, kitchens, royal quarter, administrative quarter & the oldest classroom for children were discovered. Lunch is to be taken back in Deir Ezzor, the we head to Palmyra's hotel for dinner & O/N

Day 06: Palmyra

After breakfast, we move to explore Palmyra, the city of the date, wealth & greatness. We visit to tower & the underground tombs famous because of its unique fresco, the temple of the mighty God Bel, the colonnade street & the administrative quarter of the city. Lunch is to be taken at a local restaurant. Then we highlight our day by visiting Ibn Ma'an's Castle to watch the sunset. Back to the hotel for dinner & O/N

Day 07: Palmyra / Damascus
Early breakfast, and then we leave Palmyra heading towards Damascus to have the sightseeing of the city visiting: the national museum, the folklore museum, the tombs of Saladin & the straight street of Damascus, lunch at a local restaurant. In the after noon we take a visit to the Christian quarter where St. Ananias saw the vision of God who ordered him to cure St. Paul out of his blindness. Then we have some free time to do shopping at the old bazaar (souq AL Hamidieh) which is stuffed up with every type of fine Orientals. At the end of the day we drive over to Qasioun Mountain to have a panoramic view of Damascus, dinner & O/N at the hotel.

Day 08: Damascus / Bosra / Jerash / Amman

After breakfast we head south to Bosra for sightseeing visiting: the Roman Theater, baths, Lantern gate, underground market & the wind gate. Then we head to Jordan crossing the Syrian /Jordanian border with the Syrian bus. Upon arrival we hit the road to the ancient city of Jerash, there at a well watered site are the hills of Gilead, where we can find the remains from the Neolithic times as well as Greek, Byzantine, Umayyad & others. You can see Artemis temple, Zeus temple, a vast Roman street of columns. After we finnish this wonderful tour, it is time to experience our first meal in Jordan at a local restaurant, then we proceed to the hotel in Amman for dinner & O/N

Day 09: Amman / Madaba / Mt. Nebo / Dead Sea / Petra
After breakfast, we leave Amman to Madaba, dates back to the Bronze Age; the mosaic of this site is of an exceptional beauty. After our visit we drive to Mount Nebo, the mythology has it that Moses is buried here. Then we drive to the lowest point on earth, the one and only Dead Sea where you can relax in gently lapping water. Lunch is to be taken at a local restaurant then we head to Petra for dinner & O/N

Day 10: Petra

Early breakfast, we start discovering the legacy of the Nabateans. Petra's most famous monument; the treasury, appears dramatically at the end of Siq. This towering façade is the first Petra's secrets. Various walks & climbs reveal literally hundreds of buildings, facades, tombs, baths & hunting rock drawings and relieves. And then we see a 7000 seat theater that goes back to Jesus' times, a palace tomb with Roman style & a gigantic third century monastery (Deir). Lunch to be taken at a local restaurant during our visit, and then we head back to the hotel for dinner & O/N.

Day 11: Petra / Amman / Departure
After an early breakfast, we transfer to Amman upon arrival we proceed to sightseeing of Amman visiting: Citadel, Roman Theater, Agora & Amman Museum. Lunch is at a local restaurant during the sightseeing. Dinner is to be taken at a local restaurant then we transfer to the airport for the departure.
